Building Windows Phone 7 applications is fun, and easy! We can use the skills we already have as Silverlight developers to make a quick and easy transition to developing on Windows Phone 7. During this session, we will utilize your existing Silverlight, Visual Studio and Expression Blend skills to build a typical data driven Windows Phone 7 application using data publically available from the web. We will also examine the Windows Phone 7 application architecture, discuss (and implement) the MVVM pattern on the phone using the MVVM Light toolkit, and show how the emulator and debugger work seamlessly together. At the end, we will briefly discuss what it takes to publish your finished application to the Windows Phone Marketplace and how you can monitor the monetization of your application. By the end of this hands-on session, everyone should have a good understanding, and some practical experience, in building applications Windows Phone 7.
