DFW Pythoneers

The Vision

* To meet interesting people, to learn new things, to teach others
* To run some classes, on tools, frameworks, and the language itself
* To support both face-to-face meetups, and online projects and classes
* To collaborate on fun projects, to run local coding "sprints"
* To help with the Texas regional Python conferences
* To help each other find work, if so desired, using Python.

Python is a powerful, approachable language for both those new to programming as well as the very experienced. It is useful in many areas, from serving web pages to database manipulation and scientific calculation/data visualization.

At our meetings members present on many different areas of usage, introducing a new module or demonstrating advanced programming techniques. We are very much into the code, doing walkthroughs and explaining how it works. We also make book recommendations and talk about the job market for Python programmers.

We operate our own website at http://www.dfwpython.... along with a discussion mailing list and a software version control repository for our projects. Independent and group projects are welcome to use these resources.
